Which ground are you?

Image
Matt 13:3b-9 NKJV ...Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop; some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has an hear let him hear! Luke 8: 11-15 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those ...

"Oh I'll just wait until tomorrow"

Pro. 6:6-11 (THE VOICE) Take a lesson from the ant, you who love leisure and ease. Observe how it works, and dare to be just as wise. It has no boss, no one laying down the law or telling it what to do, yes it gathers its food through summer and takes what it needs from the harvest. How long do you plan to lounge your life away, you lazy fool? Will you ever get out of bed? You say, "A little sleep, a little rest, a few more minutes, a nice little nap." but soon poverty will be on top of you like a robber; need will assault you like a well armed warrior. Ecc 10:18 (THE VOICE) The roof sags over the head of lazybones; the house leaks because of idle hands. One morning during prayer the Lord spoke to us. He said, "Procrastination will cost you dearly in this season."  With His words still ringing loudly in my spirit I begin to meditate, so I went to look up the word procrastination, and it is defined as the act of WILLFULLY delaying the doing of something tha...

The Silent Treatment of God pt 2

Image
Mark 15:34 (NLT) Then at three o'clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?" Psalm 22:1-2 (NLT) My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Everyday I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but find no relief. Have these words ever crossed your mind? Have you ever cried out and felt like you were not being heard? This brings me to part 2 of "The Silent Treatment of God" I believe we've all experienced the silent treatment of God at some point in our walk with Him, but the key is figuring out why He's silent and what to do IN THE SILENCE. I want to share with you some points that I've learned while walking in the silence myself.  First things first, we must understand God is sovereign and it is He Who runs the show, not us. He is our Creator and even though He ha...

The Silent Treatment of God pt 1

Mar. 11, 2015 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick." When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it." Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed TWO MORE DAYS in the place where He was. (John 11:1-6) Have you ever felt like God was giving you the silent treatment? If so, you are not alone. I have, in fact this was a very unfamiliar place for me.  I was used to hearing Him, I was used to feeling His presence, and I was used to having His peace. Then all of a sudden everything stopped. I thought well maybe I did something wrong, so I began to examine myself. There ...

The Model to Follow Pt 2

Eph. 5:21-33 Submitting to one another in the fear of God.  Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head  of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one ...

Transparency will set you free!

Ephesian 4:25 Therefore having put away falsehood, let each one of your speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. This is a subject that you really don't hear to much about. Being transplant is almost a foreign language to some, but if we are ever going to get anywhere as the body of Christ we have to expose the lies of the enemy. Some of us are battling with things that have been hidden for years, yet we know how to speak the "church" lingo, and we know how to put on that Sunday smile deceiving everyone into thinking everything is okay, but the truth us there is a cry for help on the inside of us.   Some of you who are reading this post right now are dealing with things that you feel are so gruesome that you can't possibly share it with anyone else. The devil has made you feel like people will not respect, nor accept you if they knew that you were struggling in a certain area in your life. Before I go any further I want to reassure yo...

Are you a dead man walking?

Image
Romans 6:2b,6-8 (NKJV) " ...How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it...knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For he who had died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,..." The question I ask that you ponder on is, "Am I a dead man walking?" This may seem like a strange question to ask, or even answer for that matter, but if we look at what the apostle Paul was saying here we will then see the relevance of this question. Many of us have been saved for a while, and some are even serving in ministry, but there comes a time in this walk when we have to do a self check up. The bible says, "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves." (See 2 Cor. 13:5a)  Whether you've been walking with the Lord for a short period of time, or you've been ...

A Prophet is Without Honor!

Image
Mark 6:1-5 (NKJV) Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not, Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A PROPHET IS NOT WITHOUT HONOR EXCEPT IN HIS OWN COUNTRY, AMONG HIS OWN RELATIVES, AND IN HIS OWN HOUSE." Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.  These scriptures have gotten me through very hard times of rejection. Many times we will be rejected by those who knew us back in the day, or those who are the most familiar with us. As a person who stands for truth ther...

Repent and turn away from you!

Image
ACTS 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of  the Lord. Many times I have shown you that I am displeased with your actions, yet you continue to ignore My voice. You've continued to reason with My commands all because you have become comfortable in your ways. I come quickly says the Lord, and I am coming with My reward in my hand. If you truly wanted me I have made Myself available to you. If you truly wanted Me I have made Myself accessible through the blood of My Son, yet you trample over the blood. You trample over the blood by choosing your own way. You cry out and ask Me for help, but when I send help you reject it. I say repent and turn away from you. Your ways are sending you to hell. Your dead works I will not accept. Hear Me my children return to Me. Oh how I desire to gather you as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. Oh how I desire for you to dwell in My secret pla...
