True Grace

...I have written briefly exhorting and testifying that this is true grace of God wherein ye stand."(1 Peter 5:12b) Here Peter emphasizes the true grace of God because there was a false theme of grace being preached in the church even in his day. It's sad that leaders have crept into the church turning the grace of God into lasciviousness.  Real grace teaches us how to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. The church must realize that God does not overlook our sins. Grace never takes away our responsibility to keep the commandments of God. Rather it enables us to obey them.... God offers his divine grace so that we may be freed from sin's clutches in order to do his will. Where sin abounds, grace can much more abound (Rom.5:20b).  There are two meanings for grace: 1. Grace is undeserved and unmerited favor. It is God's sovereign goodness and kindness toward us. 2. Grace is a divine enablement and strength. It is a transforming, enabling power. I want t...

A Father's Love

A FATHER”S LOVE  John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. As we are approaching Father's Day I want to reflect on the love of a father. There is absolutely nothing like the love of a Father. In the natural we look to our fathers as the man who can do no wrong. We look at them as the man who would keep us safe from all harm. We look to them to provide for our everyday needs. We look to them to care for and comfort us. All of these attributes I speak of are taken from the ultimate Abba Father.  The world was lost and without hope, but because of a Father's love  we are now found.  We were sheep without a shepherd headed to the slaughter house, but God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son to die even though He knew no sin.  There is nothing like a Father's love. 1 John 4:9-10 says...
