A Prayer Asking For Forgiveness

Father God in the name of Jesus we come before You asking Oh God that You would have mercy upon us according to Your loving kindness and the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out our transgressions and wash us thoroughly from our sins.

Oh God we acknowledge our transgression and our sin is always before us. Against You and only You have we sinned and done this evil in Your sight. Lord You are just when you speak and blameless when You judge. Behold You desire truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part You will make us to know wisdom. Purge us with hyssop Lord and we shall be clean. Hide Your face from our sins and blot out all of our iniquities.

We know our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked and who can know it. It is You Oh God that search the heart and test our minds even to give every one of us according to our ways and according to the fruit of our doings. So Father we ask that You would create in us a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us.

Lord please do not cast us away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from us. It is in You and only You that we live, move, and have our being.We would not make it without You. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation and uphold us by Your generous Spirit in the name of Jesus. Then we will be able to truly teach transgressors Your ways and sinners shall be converted to You.

O Lord open our lips and our mouths shall show forth Your praises. Father You don't desire sacrifice nor do you do you delight in burnt offerings. You have commanded us to rend our hearts and not our garments. Your sacrifices O God are a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart. These You will not despise; then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness.

 You have chastened us severely, and we thank you that you have not given us over to death. Open to us the gates of righteousness and we will go through them while giving you all the glory and praise that You so deserve.

Search us O  God and know our heart, try us and know our thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in us and lead us in the way of everlasting. Father let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in Your sight. Our Lord, our strength, and our redeemer in the name of Jesus we pray Amen!
